Food Pantry

The FUMC Food Pantry feeds the hungry in Millington. We see families who are suffering from job loss, job cut backs, out of food, etc. Our Food Pantry is able to thrive thanks to generous donations from our members and from the Millington community. We also receive donations from our area schools through the Kids Kan Food Drive and from our local Post Office through the U. S. Postal Service Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. During Christmas, we provide Christmas boxes to families in need. These boxes contain enough items to cook a Christmas meal. The Food Pantry is open Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m-12 noon and on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:30 p.m. by calling 901-872-2771 to schedule an appointment. For more information please contact Gail DeLancey at 901-872-2771.

Weekend Backpack Ministry
Millington First United Methodist Church also has a Weekend Backpack Ministry to help those children most in need in our community living in food insecure households. Ministry volunteers meet every two weeks to pack food into backpacks delivered to Millington and E.A. Harrold Elementary Schools during the school year.
