FUMC has an exciting youth ministry with a variety of offerings. We "share Christ by sharing ourselves.” We hope to build a strong relational ministry while also living into our Methodist heritage.
Our main programming opportunities are during the school year on Sunday Nights in our Flame Center building from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Youth Group consists of sharing a meal together, enjoying fellowship together, and participating in a lesson related to our Christian faith and how to live it out in the world. During the summer we don’t have main programming, but we do try to have a fun outing once a week.
We also have Youth Sunday School at 9:40 a.m. every Sunday morning as well as an open gym the first Wednesday night of each month for anyone to come and hang out, work on homework, jump shots, or just relaxing after a busy day, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
We are always looking for more volunteers, and those who would be willing to enter into the mission work of youth ministry. We have developed a youth ministry leadership team to strategically, prayerfully and intentionally live into our calling to raise up the young people of our community to have a vital relationship with Jesus Christ, and find a personal and communal vocation in living that relationship out in service to the world around us. We also always need more help behind the scenes, planning and chaperoning events.
